Hi, we're Jamie and Mia, the founders of High Summit Tea Co.
Like many people, we spent years living a busy lifestyle just outside London. Life was fast-paced, schedules were full, and finding time to slow down wasn't always easy. Eventually, we made the decision to leave city life behind and start a new chapter in one of our favourite places – Keswick, in the heart of the Lake District.
What drew us here was the sense of community, the incredible scenery, and a way of life that felt more connected to the things that matter most.
Tea played a surprisingly important role in that journey.
Neither of us drink alcohol, so tea became our drink of choice. Whether it was sharing a pot after a long day, trying new blends on weekends, or discovering teas from different parts of the world, tea became more than just a drink. It became a ritual, a hobby, and something we genuinely loved learning about.
Over time, we realised there wasn't just one type of tea we enjoyed. Some days called for a strong breakfast tea, others for a refreshing green tea, a comforting chai, or a calming herbal blend in the evening. The more we explored, the more we appreciated the incredible variety that loose leaf tea has to offer.
That's where the idea for High Summit Tea Co. began.
We wanted to create the kind of tea shop we would love to visit ourselves — somewhere welcoming, approachable, and focused on quality. A place where experienced tea drinkers could discover something new, and where complete beginners could feel comfortable asking questions and exploring different flavours.
Today, we're proud to offer a carefully curated range of over 50 loose leaf teas and matcha blends sourced from around the world. Every tea we stock has been chosen because we genuinely enjoy it and believe our customers will too.
When selecting teas for our collection, quality always comes first.
We spend time researching suppliers, understanding origins, and tasting blends to ensure every tea we offer meets the standards we'd expect ourselves. From traditional black teas and Japanese green teas to wellness infusions, rooibos blends and matcha, we aim to offer something for every taste and every occasion.
Our range continues to evolve as we listen to our customers and discover exciting new teas to bring into the shop.
As a small independent business, we're always looking for ways to reduce waste and make more sustainable choices.
Our reusable foil-lined tea tubes are designed to keep your tea fresh while helping to reduce unnecessary packaging. Once you've finished your tea, simply bring your tube back for a refill and receive 20% off your next purchase, and this option is also available online.
It's a small change that helps reduce waste, saves cupboard space, and encourages customers to explore new blends while reusing the same packaging.
For us, High Summit Tea Co. is about more than selling tea.
